The Pratt & Whitney Propulsion Systems Analysis (PSA) organization is an exciting, fast-paced engineering organization responsible for defining new competitive aircraft propulsion concepts and conducting the development and validation tests necessary to ensure that Pratt & Whitney military and commercial applications meet or exceed all customer requirements for performance and operational functionality throughout the products life cycle.

The Systems Modeling & Integration discipline is looking for highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven individuals to develop and maintain productivity tools and methods utilized within the Propulsion Systems Analysis (PSA) organization. The methods developer will work closely with the PSA user base to gather requirements, implement, and deploy utilities and tools, improving the users’ workflow.The candidate will play an important role in guiding the PSA community in the proper use of the simulation toolsets.Job responsibilities also include the development of tools targeting productivity enhancements related to the development and maintenance of aero-thermodynamic engine systems.Additional opportunities exist to influence standards for gas turbine engine modeling through cross industry collaboration.

Qualification: Competent in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: aerodynamics, thermodynamics, numerical computation, software design & configuration management. System or component modeling experience is desirable but not necessary. Practical experience with a systems level analysis approach, and tools development experience using high level languages, such as C++, Java, Ada, etc. is required. General understanding of gas turbine systems is beneficial. Knowledge of Numerical Propulsion Simulation System (NPSS) is a plus. Strong communication, analytical, and teaming skills coupled with the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment is required.

Education: BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science w/4–7+ years of successful experience in a technical assignment within an Engineering organization.

MS degree in Engineering or Computer Science w/2–5+ years of successful experience in a technical assignment within an Engineering organization.

PhD degree in Engineering or Computer Science w/0–2+ years of successful experience in a technical assignment within an Engineering organization.
