  • Lead an organization of manufacturing engineers focused on the machining and finishing of precision forged air foils and the various product lines supported by the air foils Business Units.Develop and implement plans that are in line with the business strategy to further our world class technology portfolio.Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets.Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of air foils.Develop plans and processes to align with our growth strategy to support the next generation of aerospace propulsion systems.Perform research and development activities to support other functional areas regarding technical and or material/metallurgical/manufacturing issues related to quality, operations, and processes.Assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigations.Support operational excellence using statistical analysis for process control and certification.Lead the ACE journey to continuously improve the quality and exceed customer’s expectations.Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures.This position is part of Pratt & Whitney’s talent growth strategy to maintain our competitive advantage in the air foils business.Create capital plans and specify equipment to meet the growing needs of the machining manufacturing unit.Periodic travel required (<10%)

Qualification:

Knowledge of thermal processing of super alloys, robotics, heat treat, conventional and non-conventional machining techniques and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) a plus.

Ability to supervise a diverse group of engineers focused on delivering quality product.

Good organizational skills with project management experience.

Possess good people and communication skills.

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (ACE, 6S, etc.).

Basic Qualifications:

7-10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualfications:

4-7+ years of experience with a Master’s Degree.

Education:

BS Degree in Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, or technically related field.

7-10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 4-7+ years of experience with a Master’s Degree.
