The current business environment is rapidly changing and growing with the introduction of new programs into revenue service and the company’s make-buy ratio changing to a higher percentage buy. Supply Chain Quality is responsible for all supplier quality, including hardware escape and non-conformance management, root cause and corrective action, improving supplier performance, supplier audits, supporting work transfers and process improvements.
Manager will lead a team of 5-8 Quality Engineers, responsible for suppliers in the Tier 1, Castings, Forgings, composites and distributed products commodities. Manager will be a key element in the rebranding of Supply Chain Quality Team. Individual selected will need to demonstrate the ability to identify and drive change, adaptability in the face of uncertainty and the ability to hold oneself and others accountable. Individual selected will need to demonstrate the ability to develop and coach employees. Strong leadership and communication skills are required. Individual will need to perform both tactical and strategic roles.
Manager will be responsible for the success of their people and will be working to develop and raise up their team members. The ideal candidate will be “high potential” talent that thrives on fast paced environments. The candidate will also be capable of solving organizational conflicts in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Manager will be responsible for leading team (including driving & coaching) in implementation of Zero Defect Plans (ZDP) at critical suppliers as part of the larger UTAS and Aerostructures initiatives. ZDPs include the use of RRCA, UPPAP and ProCert. Report outs on plan and progress will be made to executive team on a regular basis. Travel will be required to aid supplier in RRCA and closing actions.
Manager will be required to identify an area of improvement within the organization and hold an ACE event to solve the problem. Manager will also need to ensure the objective is met by her/his employees.
8-15 years of experience in engineering or quality engineering field related to the manufacture of Aerospace Components, Automotive Structures or Department of Defense. Should have experience in quality system, product, or technical process audits. Must have experience in RRCA and problem resolution. Strong P.C. Skills. Strong communication skills and experience with cross functional teams.
Must have skills:
BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering/MFG Technology or equivalent experience. MFG and/or QA background. Audit experience with AS9100 & AS9102. Strong C/A implementation background.
Lean MFG experience, Supply Chain and Processing background (HT, NDT etc.) Digital Product Definition & Model Based definition experience. UPPAP & ProcCert working knowledge & implementation. Experience with advanced aerospace components manufacturing, machining and assembly.
