As part of the Intelligent Aircraft - Digital Initiatives team, you'll help drive digital transformation creating Big Data solutions using the latest analytics, cloud and Internet of Things technologies. You’ll help us work aggressively to bring Industry 4.0 to everything from the shop floor to space travel.

In the Senior Software Developer role, you’ll be responsible for creating Big Data analytic solutions. Experience in cloud PaaS and IaaS platforms, Hadoop, object oriented programming, AngularJS as well as structured and semi-structured data stores is required. Large scale, enterprise software development experience is also key to success in this role.

You will report to the Associate Director of Intelligent Aircraft - Digital Initiatives, and can be located in either Charlotte, NC or Windsor Locks, CT.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Work with solutions architects to design and develop enterprise Big Data solutions.

  • Develop algorithms to process streaming data into measurable analytic results.

  • Rapidly develop prototypes for Proof of Concept or “fail fast” validation.

  • Work with Business Analysts and Project Managers to translate business needs into stories and tasks.

  • Accurately estimate project tasks and timelines.

  • Assist in the creation of best practices and development standards.

  • Lead and participate in code reviews.

  • Stay current on the latest Big Data, cloud, IoT, analytic trends and technologies.



  • 6+ years of C# or Java

  • 2+ years of MS SQL & NoSQL or semi-structured data store

  • 1+ years of AngularJS

  • 1+ years Cloud technologies

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills


  • Python

  • Hadoop

  • MapReduce

  • Amazon Web Services/AWS managed services

  • Analytics tools such as Jupyter, Zeppelin

  • Agile project methodologies

  • Basic server administration

  • Basic network administration
