Area of Expertise:

Verify that business activities are fully compliant with International Trade Compliance (ITC) regulations. Assure adherence to all corporate policies pertaining to trade compliance issues through audit/assessment programs and initiate actions to address them. Manage licensing and agreement activities, and maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements. Duties may also include: responding to trade compliance questions in the department, providing support to investigations, developing/managing technology control plans (TCPs) and managing jurisdiction/classification activities and import/export authorizations.

Typical Roles/Area of Focus:

Incumbent’s responsibilities will generally focus on one or more of the following:

  • Provide broker support for HTS classification, country of origin, value and other data elements as required to ensure compliant Customs entries

  • Act as SME and point of contact for daily import and export operational activities

  • Support import and export trade compliance audit processes

  • Provide guidance on INCOTERMS

  • Participate in global import and export process improvement initiatives

  • Understanding and application of Customs Valuation

  • Familiarity with Customs ACE system

  • Import/Export Regulatory Compliance

  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations, including the HTS, CFR 19, Explanatory Notes and Customs publications.

Excellent computer skills; previous experience with SAP and GTS is desirable.
